OBJECTIVE
To develop a visual system that is implemented as a poster series. To communicate the messages and ideas visually. Organize information into clear and instantly recognizable content hierarchies.
The three posters were focused on an event titled "Vibrato" which highlighted the three opera singers Marian Anderson, Fairuz, and Andrea Bocelli. The focus of the design was to show the opera singers breaking down barriers and highlight the struggles they went through.
First Sketches
The initial sketches for the poster series focused on music notes and sound waves, broken barriers or glass, as well as spotlights and relating them to each artist's countries of origin.
Initial Designs
When recreating the sketches digitally, the focus was placed on the words rather than graphic elements.
Design Revisions
Different backgrounds were created and the lyrics to a song each artist sang were put on a lower opacity in the layout to create a texture-like element on the page.
Final Designs
The two background ideas were combined and the lyrics were moved to the cut-out section of the design. The text "3 Opera Soloists" became the focus of the poster to inform viewers about what the event was about, the three talented Opera singers. The cutout sections in the background also lined up across the series to add continuity between each poster.
